Description

On-ramp doesn’t have enough room for merging during construction.

Several cars including mine came very close to a high speed collision today while merging onto south bound I-15 at 3300s today. There were orange construction barrels up that forced merging onto the interstate in an extremely short distance. Because there were already cars on the interstate in the right lane, the car trying to merge in front of me had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting them and the barrels. This brought us and several cars already on the interstate to a standstill in the middle of traffic on the freeway.

I have seen this extremely dangerous problem several times in several places on the interstate in Salt Lake. Construction crews set up the barrels with far too little time and room to merge.

Please have the construction crews create better merging lanes with more room before someone is injured or killed trying to get on the interstate.
