  Thanks for your help with this. Rode by there today and noticed the difference. However, it was still necessary to leave the bike lane and enter the vehicle lane to avoid the mailbox. Mulch/rock beneath mailbox remains on the asphalt. As originally stated this box is too close to the pavement as per postal directive that boxes be 6 - 8 inches from the asphalt. The issue should not be closed until the mailbox is in compliance.

  This is my second attempt to reply, please ignore if it is a repeat. Thanks for moving the rocks. The mailbox remains an unaddressed concern, so the issue should not be closed. The bikable shoulder has been identified as a bike lane in signage. No parking is allowed. Mailbox encroachment should not be allowed either. This mailbox is in violation of postal specifications which state that the box should be 6-8 inches from the pavement. The only reason that it appears close to compliance is because there is still mulch over the pavement under the mailbox. It is not possible to ride in the bike lane past this mailbox, causing cyclists to need to take the lane. This unnecessarily creates a dangerous situation. Please address the mailbox.
