Please consider contacting the City of Dallas directly to provide more detailed and accurate information.
I reported this to Dallas and used the following address:
19499 DALLAS PKWY , DALLAS, TX 75287
I encourage everyone else to do the same.
I used the website above and clicked on the "Street Repair - Routine" link. Hopefully, if everyone else following this issue will do the same, Dallas will recognize the problem and fix it.
No response from the City of Dallas so far on my report. I suspect that we won't hear anything from anyone unless we get some visibilty on the issue from some media outlet. Has anyone else reported the issue to the City of Dallas?
I've noticed that a couple of weeks ago, the pavement around the railroad tracks was "scraped" to make the crossing rougher. Glad that someone made an attempt, but it would be nicer if the issue was actually fixed instead.
Still an issue. Driving in the far right lane and crossing the railroad tracks going south will most certainly damage your car now. I have re-reported this to the city of Dallas - not that I expect that it will do any good at all - and encourage everyone else that is reading about this to do the same. Without people complaining about this, it will not get fixed.
I have again notified Plano's Public Works Dept. just so they are aware. I will post any additional information if it becomes available. If you want to speak with someone in Plano Public Works about this please call 972.769.4140, however at this time Dallas has jurisdiction over this area. If something changes I will post the info.
I opened service request 10-00229520 with the City of Dallas and it was closed with a resolution of "Resolved - Not City Jurisdiction". So, Plano says it is a Dallas problem and Dallas says it isn't. So very typical.
I noticed as I drove in the lane next to the issue this morning that the rails are no longer supported by pavement in a couple of places and that the lane next to the one with the major issue is also beginning to become rough at the crossing.
Noticed today as I drove by that it appears that some boards or wood have been put under the unsupported rails. I guess that's to keep the trains from derailing as they go over the rails.
I've started turning into the inside lanes instead every day. I apologize to anyone that I cut off as I move over to the outside lane after crossing the tracks. Hopefully you'll understand.
Wow... noticed earlier this week that some asphalt has been placed in this location to help with the issue. It's still pretty rough, but at least an attempt has been made after 11 months. Hopefully more permanent solutions can be pursued in the future since I would anticipate that this patch will end up being knocked out over time.
Holly, it has been 3 months since your comment but no further updates. The area is still patched, but needs to be fixed correctly. Do you have any updates?
This RR crossing is in Dallas, but the original ticket was opened when this website had the city limit borders incorrect, so it came to Plano. Unfortunately we have no jurisdiction in this matter and I believe that Dallas may have posted as they did because it is actually the Kansas City Southern Railway who is responsible for these areas, so technically the City of Dallas probably cannot do anything either. In this case KCS has been notified again about this rough crossing. In checking online I found the following info about a KCS Dallas office:
11931 Shiloh Road
Dallas, TX 75228
(214) 324-3564
I hope this helps and I will certainly monitor this site to see if anything changes. I apologize to all for the inconvenience and really wish there was more we could do.

David, most likely this issue is the responsibility of the railroad that owns the line. I'll investigate.
Thanks!
