RR Crossing at this location is very rough and needs to be fixed
Thank you Plano!
David and others, please post here if you find out more about the current situation or any proposed "fixes."
I reported this to Dallas and used the following address:
19499 DALLAS PKWY , DALLAS, TX 75287
I encourage everyone else to do the same.
I used the website above and clicked on the "Street Repair - Routine" link. Hopefully, if everyone else following this issue will do the same, Dallas will recognize the problem and fix it.
I opened service request 10-00229520 with the City of Dallas and it was closed with a resolution of "Resolved - Not City Jurisdiction". So, Plano says it is a Dallas problem and Dallas says it isn't. So very typical.
I noticed as I drove in the lane next to the issue this morning that the rails are no longer supported by pavement in a couple of places and that the lane next to the one with the major issue is also beginning to become rough at the crossing.
Noticed today as I drove by that it appears that some boards or wood have been put under the unsupported rails. I guess that's to keep the trains from derailing as they go over the rails.
I've started turning into the inside lanes instead every day. I apologize to anyone that I cut off as I move over to the outside lane after crossing the tracks. Hopefully you'll understand.
David, most likely this issue is the responsibility of the railroad that owns the line. I'll investigate.
