Currently, traffic calming in Burlington is initiated by residents. At least 1/3 of the affected street or neighborhood needs to be interested in traffic calming, which is demonstrated through a neighborhood petition. DPW, with the support of the Public Works Commission, is currently pursuing an overhaul to this traffic calming program. Information about these efforts will be presented at the next Public Works Commission meeting to be held on December 18th at 6:30PM at the Burlington Department of Public Works building located at 645 Pine St. There will be an opportunity for public comment. Prior to this meeting, the agenda and materials presented to the Commission will be posted on the City’s website at: https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/DPW/Commission/Agendas

We're excited to let you know that we are now implementing a comprehensive asset management program which is a mostly "behind the scenes" effort. This will enable more efficient, more effective and more fiscally sound infrastructure management. Nothing changes for you and we'll continue to use SeeClickFix, but we have had to automate a process to connect our open SCF requests with our asset management program. There may be the occasional bug to work out, but rest assured that your issue is still in queue and assigned to the right City staffer. Once this initial round of automation is through in about a week, we'll revert back to our standard messages on SeeClickFix.

Time to get the connector built to Lakeside Ave. Also time to move the traffic off Pine and Maple through the old recycling center to connect to Battery St. The mayor promised to get behind this when he was first elected. Time to get moving and reduce that traffic from Home Avenue and the neighborhoods north!

The mayor needs to be voted out! He hasn't kept any of his campaign promises and has only concentrated on his bike lanes and not the streets and sidewalks! And I talked to the person in charge of the Champlain parkway and he said the road is going out for bid in the winter and the first part was supposed to be built in the winter and the next one was supposed to be started next year I believe and said it would be finished by 2027..
