Description

A woman in a wheelchair crossing Cameron Street in the sidewalk while she had he walk symbol was clipped by a driver who turned from Oberlin onto Clark during the greenlight. Luckily she was not hurt, the vehicle knocked over her wheelchair and she fell into the street. Other pedestrians came to the rescue. There needs to be yield to pedestrian signs, flashing lights, or all lanes stop for pedestrians at this busy intersection. Lots of wheelchair users from the retirement homes on Glenwood and St. Mary’s come here to shop and the crosswalk is dangerous. Something has to be done before someone is killed.
