I was very surprised to see Yale security and police parked over in that area during "rush hour" yesterday and the number of bikers was much less- even saw a few actually obeying the rules of the road.
Forgot to add that Yale needs to educate the foreign students that crosswalks are for pedestrians -not bicycles-.
Anyone have an idea of what department within Yale can be contacted to help with this safety education for bicyclists?
I used the "bike gang" reference because they surround your car on all sides and have no regard for their own safety- at least inner city kids won't put themselves in front of a moving car without looking.

I'm constantly amazed that many Yalies "intellectual gifts" have absolutely nothing to do with street smarts or common sense. Bicyclists on the sidewalks are illegal and put us all in danger.

Yale PD has decided to sit in their cars and just observe all the illegal activity from bicyclists and pedestrians alike. For a bunch of intellectuals they sure have no common sense on how to ride a bike WITH TRAFFIC and not against it. I have watched Yale PD practically run resident bicyclists off the road to stop them and make them obey traffic laws in the summer, but I guess that's only because they have nothing better to do. Maybe its time to start reporting the YPD that decides to watch and not do their jobs. What's the unemployment rate? Many others out there ready to take slackers jobs.
