My neighbor received a warning for having grass maybe an 1/4 of an inch too tall (his house is immaculate) and yet this is going on around the corner from us. Unreal. It’s been going on for years. I don’t why the city doesn’t fine the owner of the house weekly.

When will this house be addressed trash keeps piling up on the front porch. People are living in it again yet the city and codes is doing nothing about it.

The house is 2862 Semmes St. Up until a few months back, the City of East Point's excuse was "it is in court proceedings . . ." etc etc. That ended in November when they finally had their court proceedings. At that time, City of East Point came and cleaned up the sidewalk in front of the house and nothing else.

Does anyone know if we have a new city council member for this area? They should be brought in on this, Code Enforcement will do nothing and will get paid to do it.

Why was it in court? Who owns it? The owner should be fined repeatedly until something is done about it. People want to live in this area and it's a shame they can't because of homes like this sitting in disrepair.

Christina - I am not sure who owns this property. It was in court to remove the squatters who were living there - they were there for several years at least. They removed the main squatter, but as others have indicated, he had several "tenants" who still continue to frequent the property. In fact, the front door is now wide open again!

Anyway, I totally agree, the city should fine the property, and when it doesn't get paid, lien the property, and then place the property in in rem procedures so it can be removed from the owner's possession. Then they could sell it to someone who would fix it up so it could be livable.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, East Point staff are working various shifts to meet the needs of residents, therefore there will be a delay from staff in responding to non-critical issues.

we all appreciate everything that has being done. However, this has been an ongoing issue for over a year and really nothing has been done about it. It has now become a public health concern with the acccumulating trash and human defication on the property. Can we please get some help with this matter.

I understand the staff are taking care of more critical issues however I have seen a person coming out of this property. Is it possible to board up the windows?
