People still continue to allow their dogs off leash on the property. Others use the property to ride loud dirt bikes on the open grass behind the building. Children and teens use the area as a hang out spot. On one occasion in full daylight, a nearby resident witnessed children trying to break the windows of the building by throwing rocks at them. The resident had to yell and scare them away. The police were not called because by the time they arrive the kids would be long gone. This has been an ongoing issue for a number of years now. Its not the responsibility of the nearby residents to keep an eye on this abandoned property. The owner who purchased the property from the town also owns another business in Enfield. And has since sold the Brainard Road property to the business, making it no longer privately owned by an individual, but it is now a business asset owned by an LLC.
