I previously reported this same issue, and recommended the same fix! Our crosswalk signs throughout the city--installed 10-12' high on the side of the road, showing an image of a person in crosswalk, with an arrow pointing down to the crosswalk--does nothing to remind motorists of the State law, only to make them aware that there could be pedestrians crossing in the area. Motorists need a more explicit and visible reminder of their responsibility to YIELD/stop. Median signs that actually TELL motorists the "rule" would be the way to go...
