Please contact the Cambridge Police Department directly for issues requiring immediate attention by calling 617-349-3300 as this system is not monitored 24/7. Tell us how we're doing by completing a short survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CambServiceRequests
It is illegal for private citizens to use, possess, or sell fireworks in Massachusetts, or to purchase them legally elsewhere and then transport them into the state. The law prohibits any article designed to produce a visible or audible effect. The penalty can be a fine or imprisonment or both, and confiscation. Thus far, we have confiscated a number of fireworks and did make an arrest, in which a Boston resident faces multiple firearms charges as well as unlawful possession of fireworks.
We are directing available patrols to locations at the times in which we are receiving calls and reports from the likes of SeeClickFix, as well as where/when Officers have witnessed fireworks. To clarify, we have not had any recent gunshot-related incidents in the area. If anyone has any specific information on who may be responsible for using fireworks, please call 617-349-3300 or text an anonymous tip to the Cambridge Police, by sending a text message to Tip411 (847411). Begin your message with Tip650 and then type your message.
I am sorry. I dont understand why matters are closed when they are not resolved. How about a community meeting at Sennott using social distancing or via ZOOM?
