I know i shouldn't have to say this but The Parks Dept or whoever treats the trees need to make sure they have the proper solution to the cleaning of the graffiti or it will destroy the bark and the look of the trees. They should analyze the type of paint that was used and find out what can neutralize it.

I'm really sorry to see this damage, and have to wonder about the person who did it, and why they wouldn't get how wrong it is.
and what other damage would they do if they did this?

Yes I know some great men still walk there. George Bush... I don't know if you realize how old the green is and how many really great minds I'm referring. The sarcasm is silly. You are right though we have recent Nobel Prize winners and good men and women there today being good to others and just getting by. None of us deserve this kind of activity. That is all I mean and my only point. Thanks for not jumping to further conclusions.

The absurdity of this great issue taking months to get any form of response tells me that the proprietorship of the green is a complete farce. The fact is that the longer the graffiti stays on these trees, the greater possibility that more damage and graffiti could appear. It sends a message to the perpetrators and to the public at large that the city and proprietors don't care about maintaining the appearance of the historic green that they are in charge of maintaining. The entire issue is quite shameful.

Now a new addition to one of the Graffiti trees on the upper green. As i predicted they are adding elements and now nailing into the great tree. I went up to the green to check and this photo was taken on Thurs December 19th. I reported this problem in October. Is anyone looking at this post or am i just putting up a complaint that will never be addressed by anyone in the city of New Haven or the Proprietorship of the Green? This is a disgrace to our historic green and its wrong that its not being remedied. Unbelievable.

The other tree in October, also still has the graffiti.

Still there, Seems that only mother nature will care to take it off over time. In the meanwhile it makes a great backdrop for tourists coming to our city and taking pictures on the upper Green.

This issue will remain outstanding until someone in the Parks Dept gets on the New Haven Green and remedies it. Until then, as long as Graffiti is on two historic old trees, so remains this See Click Fix complaint.

Hello? What do the parks people do? Do they care about our tree lined spaces? Are they paid to take care of the trees or just cut them down?

And why aren't the Proprietors of the Green pushing for this.....
