Description
There was a request entered earlier today asking that the tree in front of this five-unit apartment building be cut down because the occasional dead limb falls in the yard after a storm. I urge the City not to grant that request, but to only remove the dead limbs that are on the tree and that happen to fall in the future. It is now rare to find a tree of that age in the City and it is therefore precious. Just because a landlord wants to lessen his yard upkeep burden does not justify making the City a bit uglier and a bit less shaded (and thus hotter) by removing such a lovely tree. In my experience, the City is very quick to remove downed limbs from City trees upon request, so the tree need be no burden to the landlord at all.
