Dear Mayor,
It is not good for one's well being to be constantly subjected to piles of garbage, filth, graffiti, homelessness, human feces, hypodermic needles. You have the power to help to improve people’s quality of life/their mental health by using laws, regulations, and codes already in place that if they were enforced would help to do that.
Please write to the Mayor officeofthemayor@oaklandnet.com
lschaaf@oaklandca.gov.
The more people that write the more she may understand that ZIP CODE DISCRIMINATION is no longer acceptable in Oakland.

In a written statement, Council Member Nikki Fortunato Bas who represents this district, said in part, "Our office is dedicated to identifying and moving unsheltered residents into permanent housing or shelter options and working with encampment residents."
An aide to City Council Member Bas said the site is not a city-sanctioned encampment and that Bas is working to eventually revitalize the tennis courts so residents can use them again.
Nikki can get this done, click on photo.

Wait there is more:-
"The Athol Tennis Courts are in the heart of District 2 and were once utilized by many residents from across Oakland to play tennis and recreate with one another. We’ve heard from many residents about their desire to see the Athol Tennis Courts by Lake Merritt renovated and to have regular programming reinstated. Importantly, we must first support a transition plan for the unsheltered residents currently living on the courts -- a plan that upgrades their living conditions during the COVID pandemic to protect the health and welfare of all residents."
