Just a word to say that the Malden Traffic Commission instructed me to contact my councilor so they can add the issue of speeding to their agenda for Highland Ave between the rotary and Fellsway East. I contacted my councilor but still no word from either the city or the council on whether they will take our safety seriously andmake much needed traffic safety improvements on our street. Kids play here, and we deserve a safer street! Is anyone going to take notice and do something about this?!!! Absolutely ridiculous that they can’t install a couple of darn speed bumps and add better signage and lower the speed limit to 20.

As far as speed bumps, you were given the correct information to send the request before the traffic commission. The work needs approval from the board taking into consideration many aspects of roadway engineering and funding allocation for the proposed project. The Malden Police have invested a lot of resources attempting to track down the motorcycle complaints and speeding issues in your neighborhood while also providing services to the many other streets with similar complaints.
