I have commented in the past about the ever expanding number of people reporting rats where they live. When I called the city to inquire what they are doing about it I was told that they were in fact making sure to follow up with al neighbors to make sure that they were given adequate information on how to discourage rats from "settling into their property". Recently there was a rat spotted a block from my house and as far as I can tell there has not been enough outreach to neighbors about better practices for getting rid (or at least greatly controlling) rats. I hope the city will improve this "outreach"!!! My sympathy goes out to all of you who are experiencing this up close. Many years ago we had a problem on our property and it was horrifying!
