Description
Over the past two months, this particular crosswalk constantly has dumpsters, trash, and dumped furniture in the pathway.
I think the dumpsters belong to Domino's, who said that they would take care of it. So far nothing has been done.
There's constantly people going through the dumpsters (as you can see from the photos), throwing and leaving trash everywhere. Additionally, I've seen a few people almost fall from slipping on pizza boxes and loose debris.
This isn't safe for pedestrians nor does it reflect well on our city. Please clean and/or contact the responsible company regarding appropriate locations to leave their dumpsters.

Eileen- thank you for the email address- I sent them a detailed email regarding this matter.
The dumpsters do belong to Domino’s. We spoke with the General Manager Ralph at (805) 765-5397, who acknowledge that the dumpsters (1) belong to them and (2) are an issue. At one point, he stated that he would take care of it. This past Friday, he said there’s nothing he can do nor were efforts made to move them.

This is the reply I got from Domino's Corporate:
Domino's Reference #: 1518828
Eileen,
We appreciate you contacting us and giving us the opportunity to fix the situation. My name is Asia and I will be happy to help resolve your issue.
The Oakland location where you ordered is locally owned, so my first step is to report your concern to the owner. This will give their office the opportunity to hear your feedback firsthand, and do what it takes to keep you as a loyal customer.
Eileen, your feedback is a gift and we appreciate you contacting us. Once again, I am really sorry that we let you down. If you do not hear from a local supervisor in 3 days, please contact us again so that we can make sure this is resolved for you.
Most sincerely,
Asia

I work across the street from this and have witnessed multiple people walk around the dumpsters. This includes onto the street with incoming vehicles driving extremely close to them. I've contacted code enforcement three times with this matter and have attempted to talk to the local Dominoes (I'll try Domino's Corporate next).
I called the State Council on Developmental Disabilities as I've witnessed wheelchair users and legally blind persons waiting and walk in the street with active traffic. I'm told that Gabriel with SCDD is looking into the matter and will be contacting me shortly with options to have these moved permanently. I'll update everyone once I speak with him.

Unless they have an encroachment permit, they are in violation of Oakland Municipal code:

While driving by the dumpsters today I noticed the addresses on the dumpsters - 314 Broadway (Domino's) and 300 Broadway (Dragon Gate - new restaurant on corner). Not sure who is using the third one. Regardless, these business' should move these out of the crosswalk.
Oakland Public Works/Code Violations what are you doing about this?

Well, it appears that the dumpster was moved from the crosswalk. For about a week this was clean- now there's a buildup of trash in the same spot. walking by it, I saw empty boxes of frying oil and later a few people ripping the bags apart for food/items.
This is not a solution- if anything, this is far more disgusting than before! What is being done to address this?
