The City of Raleigh traffic signals run various plans at different times during the day. Some are moving more traffic into the City while some plans are designed to move more traffic out of the City. If you would let us know what times of day you have experienced these issues, we would be able to look into it. Thanks for sharing your concern with us.

thank you for your reply. it seems to be worse in the morning 7-8:30 with cars backing up on Lake Wheeler, with few cars coming through on S. Saunders...seems like a lot are going down Lake Wheeler or off the interstate to Lake Wheeler...then into the city around that time...rather than using S. Saunders.

Some timing adjustments have been made to allow more vehicles to exit Lake Wheeler which should alleviate some of the congestion. These new timings will be monitored and other adjustments will be made if needed.
