Not only is the walk signal still not working but if this is how they left it after attempting a repair, it's pretty pathetic.
This is an extremely dangerous intersection. Cars doesn't even slow down when making a turn. Yesterday someone making a left turn almost ran me over and had the gall to yell at me for not having a walk signal.
I've been complaining about this for months. FYI complaint numbers: W024521-092213 and W027113-123013

There are four possible buttons, that means it will take a repair person more time to diagnose the issue! That will, without a doubt, cut into their break time. Hopefully this time, they will realize "Hey, it's the one with the open electric panel on the bottom".
Besides, pedestrian safety is not paramount to this administration :(

I've had a lot I success with getting traffic signals fixed over the years regardless of administration. The issue here is that the light is apparently "owned" the the people who own Shop-Rite so it's a whole additional level of bureaucracy. So asking to speak to the store manager would be helpful.
I've brought this to the attention of Althea, the Director of the RRC.

Hi Steve,
I hear what you are saying. The problem is fining the owners of the ShopRite building implies that someone in Jersey City's government would have to DO something. It is sad on both counts - sad that Jersey City government is continually passing the buck on this and that the owners of the Shoprite are also not realizing their responsibilities.
They absolutely should be fined by the city. How is a citizen to know, hey, this signal is owned and operated by company 'x'? But again,
fining = city involvement and city involvement means someone in a Jersey City government department would have to do their job and work.

Resident Response Center (RRC) was notified of the pedestrian crossing light on Jul 22. Supervising Traffic Investigator notified the property management who stated it was the first they heard of it.
The pedestrian crossing / walk signal activated via the button on the Southeast and Southwest sides of Marin Blvd should be fixed by the end of the week. Their response stated that service should be their today (July 23) or tomorrow (July 24).

Hi Steve,
I was by ShopRite this evening and am happy to report that all pedestrian signal button work!! They also replaced the electrical cover plate at the base of the pole.
Charles, if you don't mind, I went ahead and closed the issue.
Jim
