Constant high speed traffic on residential area.

Q. Please describe the issue
A. The part of Bostwick Lane that’s between Casey Dr and Pendleton Ave gets a constant high speed traffic. This is a residential street with no sidewalk and families with small children. There’s always people walking and walking their pets. The constant high speed traffic makes it very unsafe to walk with my family and dogs, not to mention that the constant noise of cars speeding through is very bothersome. Looks like most traffic just use the street as a shortcut. Speed bumps or closing one side of the street would be perfect in making the street safe for families who live here and enjoy walking outside.

A few nice days and the nonsense is already starting everywhere city wide. Last year they had a big meeting with the Chief, Deputy Chief, City Council members (who are borderline useless especially here in my ward) I was Invited by Councilor Courchesne who in my mind is the ONLY one actually making a difference on these topics. The meeting was about public safety and we were told man-power and COVID were the main reasons why the city streets are packed with speeding cars, running red lights, distracted driving and the MUFFLERS? Anyone have a car in the neighborhood that backfires every 5 seconds? I have 3! And lastly......enforcing our ordinances.
I was on Memorial Drive yesterday driving from the South Hadley line to Genos and saw well over a dozen traffic violations including all of the ones above. No One stops for Red lights!
As I always say... we need the Police to be Pro-active not Re-active.
Can't wait to see what takes place in the coming months.
