Description
Someone's dog(s) poops on this sidewalk on a daily basis and scores of families have to tip toe across multiple piles during pickup and drop off (it's right next to an elementary school) so they don't step in it
It's gross and happens EVERY SINGLE DAY

Animal Control here. Trying to help. Could use some more information though.
If you do not know the description of the dog owner, dog or where they live so we can speak with them when/if we see them in the area or go to their address. Can you answer some questions so we can up our patrols in the area unfortunately we cannot be there all the time.Do you know what time frame this might be occurring? EX: When I leave to pick up my child the feces is not there, but it is when I return at this time. OR It's not there in the morning when I leave the house at this time but is there when I return at this time. Also does the feces seem to be from a small or large dog? If this is in front of your home may I also suggest signage asking to please pick up OR I would sprinkle a spice like cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper etc. its not harmful to the dog but will definitely deter them from going to the bathroom as most dogs sniff before they go. I use this outside my house in the flowerbed of a tree. weather like rain/snow I have to reapply. Please contact our office at 617-349-4376 with any questions or comments.

Hi,
Thanks for your time and thoughtful advice. I will do my best to answer your questions...
- no description of dog or owner
- probably on nightly/early morning walks
- usually, it's scattered over 10-15 feet along the playground side of the sidewalk
- it's at the school my kids attend, not near my home. I could ask the school to post signs, maybe?
- can't tell large or small dog
- I probably won't sprinkle anything because (knowing my luck) some kid or animal would have an adverse reaction and I'd get in trouble :)
Moving forward, I'll maybe ask the school if they could post a sign somewhere...or put it on the NextDoor app and hope the residents that live there do something about it.
Thanks for your help!

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
Also, thank you for reaching out to the school ,those are great ideas.
We are on from 7am-7pm. I will have the ACO's up their patrols in that area in the early morning hours and evening hours.
If you get any further information please let us know, and we will do the same.
Best,
