The lake will not be dredged any time soon. While there is low interest money that is available from the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust, neither the Township nor the Boro have the wherewithal to take on debt.

Since the lake was treated with algaecides and weed killer, it is weed free for the first time in many years. Though the eastern part of the lake and norther cove is very shallow, you can kayak and fish without having to deal with the slime of past years.
The treatment for invasive and noxious weeds has worked. For the second year in a row, the Pond is practically free from the horrible algae and weeds that prevented boating and fishing. Its still shallow on the east and northern ends due to the build up of silt. That will require more drastic and expensive measures. For now, the treatment is the best and most cost effective way to keep the Pond open for business!

Bottom line, no money, no fix.
