You need to take a little visit down south of Central like around Bartlett Park and when you realize your street is clean compared to ours then take a stroll down some of the alleys down here… I won’t even bother trying to put into words it’s something you’d have to see to believe!

I agree 100% with Goldnwolf! Also, make a visit to Del Holmes Park which is on Lake Maggiore. The may as well rename that park to "Just throw your crap on the ground park" and rename the lake to "Trash Lake". Part of the problem with the park is they don't have lids on the trash cans and the birds and the wind remove trash from the cans that eventually ends up in the lake.

The irony of this all is that they have a huge sign in the park that shows what happens when trash goes into the lake with the damage it causes but they refuse to put lids on the trash cans. I requested it months ago and they denied it.

Take your chairs and tables inside your place of business when your business is not open please.
Every weekend morning DTSP is covered in garbage in front of ever business that has seating outside, and remains covering sidewalks untik the business reopens in the evening. It either occurs during business hours and businesses dont clean up their mess. Or random people abuse the seating and tables left out overnight and destroy the area.

Some people go pick up litter. And great. But I say we need to change people's minds about litter. To stop it. Do you remember the litter campaign of the early '70s where litter is all over a city, and at the end is an old American Indian tearing up over it? Who are these litter people? We need to talk about it in schools. How can one of America's most beautiful cities be mistreated like this?

Unfortunately, there is a fraction of our population that would deem that commercial racist these days...

Fix Harbordale. That commercial was NOT racist! If you know the history of this country, you will understand why an Am. Indian has more reason to cry over litter than any of us. Let's not get off subject. It's about the trash.

The litter abounds in Campbell Park -always. I go out several times a week with a litter picker and a 5 gallon bucket. I live on a corner and just do that area. I have to stomp the litter in the bucket and it is always overfilled. After Fri and Sat the litter is the worst with all the take-out boxes, beer cans, water bottles and so on. The rest of the week it's masks and school lunch stuff as I'm one block up from the elementary school. I asked for Do Not Litter signs and some enforcement from the city council but was told it was an education (with litter) problem. So I suggested that start one and they blew that off. We have a group of volunteers that walk any alley on the 3rd Saturday of the month but it doesn't result in anything lasting. We need education, enforcement, MacDonald's litter patrol, volunteers and an effort by the city to encourage people to pitch in to clean up the city. Good luck.
