Description
Littering is out of control in St Pete and I'd like to see an awareness be made of this. Make a Litter Bug campaign with TV, radio ads like in the early '70's. Increase the fine for littering and have a few police concentrate on this. And please, rename 49th St: LITTER LANE.

I agree 100% with Goldnwolf! Also, make a visit to Del Holmes Park which is on Lake Maggiore. The may as well rename that park to "Just throw your crap on the ground park" and rename the lake to "Trash Lake". Part of the problem with the park is they don't have lids on the trash cans and the birds and the wind remove trash from the cans that eventually ends up in the lake.
The irony of this all is that they have a huge sign in the park that shows what happens when trash goes into the lake with the damage it causes but they refuse to put lids on the trash cans. I requested it months ago and they denied it.

Every weekend morning DTSP is covered in garbage in front of ever business that has seating outside, and remains covering sidewalks untik the business reopens in the evening. It either occurs during business hours and businesses dont clean up their mess. Or random people abuse the seating and tables left out overnight and destroy the area.
