Hello!
I have spoken to Melissa at the Summergrove property management office in regards to this issue! About 4 times now cars are not seeing the pedestrian crosswalk after they come to the stop sign and we have been almost hit! Myself twice and yesterday my husband while walking our dog! Can we please have some of these crosswalks repainted so we can avoid having someone or child or children injured! We are in the Summergrove subdivision and it seems the majority of the pedestrian crosswalks have faded over the years! Thanks for your understanding! We were told this is a city issue and we hope we can have this done with appreciation! Thank you so much!

I had a chance to visit this location. The problem is the location of the crosswalk itself. This crosswalk is not located at a stop sign controlled intersection. The stop sign is on Briarpatch Ln. A driver is not expecting a crosswalk away from a stop sign.
There are a number of crosswalks located similarly, away from stop sign controlled intersections. I do not want to remark these locations as the crosswalks are not located appropriately. I believe you are expecting the driver to acknowledge you are in a marked crosswalk and that you expect him to stop for you, according to state law. However, he is not expecting a crosswalk in that locations and your stepping out in front of the driver is endangering your safety. It is safer for you to choose a location to cross Fairgreen Trace at such time there is no oncoming traffic. This is an example of a location where a crosswalk is not appropriate. Also, there is no handicap ramp on the far side of the crosswalk, adding liability for physically impaired pedestrian who may wish to cross here due to the presence of a marked crosswalk.
At such time we resurface this street, this crosswalk would be taken out.
Recap- it is safer for you to cross at such location and at such time no traffic is coming than to mark a crosswalk at an inappropriate location and have you expect a driver to stop for you. Clearly, the drivers you have referenced are not expecting you to step out in front of them to cross the street. The crosswalk offers no safety to to you.

Thank you for taking the time to come out and look at the area! As you where referencing the crosswalk the homeowners that live here know there is a stop sign and crosswalk, I was in the crosswalk that is on the same side as the stop sign! Therefore he almost hit me as I walking by! Now I do now that in Ga in a crosswalk whether it is a legal one or not people have the right to walk in the pedestrian walkway and the cars have to stop! I just want you to know if this continues I will let you know again!

You are correct. A crosswalk is implied at a stop controlled intersection, and traffic must stop for someone crossing the street.
I will refresh the crosswalk across Briarpatch. That should help you there. It may be that I am able to do this under our next paving project, to be let in April.
Please keep me posted. At such time we have many pedestrians frequently wanting to cross Fairgreen Trace, I would be happy to revisit the situation and perhaps select a good location.
