Yes it's ridiculous all the loitering & drug dealing & prostitution that goes on in front the córner stores. The store owners should be fined for allowing this in front of the business. I see it going on all the time on my way to and from work. The mayor and the aldermen need to be replaced; because the only time they want to address an issue is when the media gets involved or election time

One big issue is that dispatchers are not NHPD, the are civilians. I (and many others I know) have also experienced that attitude that you describe. The dispatcher is *supposed* to identify him/herself with a number when picking up the call. If he/she doesn't, you can ask for it. This way there is at least *some* accountability should you need to contact the chief or someone higher up. I'm sorry you experienced that, but unfortunately NHPD determine staffing levels by call volume for a certain issue/geography, etc. I agree that things need extreme improvement!

The best thing to do when the person who answers the phone is rude is to ask to talk to the supervisor and have them review the call, all calls are taped.

If someone from the city reads what the person who took your complaint told you they can get in trouble and you gave enough information that they can be identified

Oh well they need to get in trouble; the call was on 5/15 @ 7:36 p.m. and it was a guy. Usually it's been issues also with a few of the female dispatch.
