Frequent Traffic Violations ArchivedAlpharetta GA, USA - AlpharettaAt the entrance to the complex that includes 12387 Crabapple Road (Crabapple Montessori School), there is a right turn only lane from northbound Crabapple Road. At the same junction, many vehicles stop to turn left into the Kroger shopping center. As traffic is stopped to allow the left-turning vehicles to await safe crossing, vehicles traveling straight frequently use the right turn only lane to accelerate and pass the left-turning vehicle. This is a frequent and systemic problem. Parents of Crabapple Montessori notice multiple vehicles each day, and one parent was nearly hit on her bike by such a vehicle earlier this week. Please bring out traffic enforcement to cite violators and install delineators on the right turn only lane (like those at the entrance to North Farm off Houze Rd) to prevent the problem from continuing. The school has no school zone for speed and no protection from law breakers to keep families safe.

Crabapple Rd Alpharetta, GA - Alpharetta
On Crabapple Rd, heading north from the junction with Houze Rd (The Silos), the speed limit is marked 35 up to Green Rd.
Cars are violating this all the time endangering pedestrians and cyclists trying to drive/ walk along that road. The side walk is also not complete between Abbey Ct and Green Rd, making it impossible to walk safely along the road.
A bike lane would be a great addition as well as STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF THE SPEED LIMIT
Multiple families in Crabapple Crossroads, Braeburn and Crabapple community would use their bicycles to both shopping centers and school, if the road was not so dangerous!
Students from Milton Middle and High school run along that road and are also in danger of being run over by speeding cars or drivers on their phone not watching the road!
Please address this issue before serious accidents happen and people get injured!I also want to add that there is technically no "legal" way to cross the road as a pedestrian at the Crabapple (Kroger) shopping centre on Crabapple Rd, as there is no crosswalk. When one wants to cross the road there, one is technically "jay walking" and since there are two professional office buildings and a school located there, there are people who would like to be able to cross that road to access the Crabapple Shopping centre.
A CROSSWALK there would be the bare minimum, to ensure safety and legality in crossing the road. -
Roswell Street Alpharetta Ga - Alpharetta
The crosswalk at the Roswell Street/Old Roswell Street/Cotton Alley intersection is extremely unsafe for pedestrians. There should be:
1. Improved directions on existing signage (“State Law: Stop for Pedestrians Within Crosswalk”)
2. New signage IN THE MIDDLE OF the crosswalk (like the attached photo)
3. Visible police enforcement of the law and consequences for offenders.I work in downtown Alpharetta, so I park in the Cotton Alley lot. Police officers are very aggressive about chalking cars in 2-3 hour spots, but I’ve never observed any of them watching out for pedestrians, especially those of us who obey the parking laws and have to cross Old Roswell Street to get to work.
For months, I’ve crossed Roswell Street twice a day to get to and from my office, and only two motorists have stopped when I’ve been at or in the crosswalk. Once, a woman turned on Roswell from Old Roswell and came within a few feet of hitting me. This morning, I was in the middle of the crosswalk and a fast-moving car topped the Old Roswell Street hill and SPED UP as he approached me. I had to run out of the crosswalk to avoid being hit.
I should add that like my coworkers, not only do I work in downtown Alpharetta, I spend lots of money here — we’re among the city’s best, most regular customers. Breakfasts at Mugs, lunches at Corner Deli, haircuts at Aria, gifts from Sis and Moons.

Adjustment of traffic light timer ArchivedResurgons Park Place Alpharetta, Georgia - AlpharettaThis traffic light (facing towards Northpoint - North bound) needs to be adjusted to allow more than two cars to pass through in the morning and afternoon. The apartment complex is causing for more cars to be held at this light and the yellow light comes on just as two cars pass underneath.

44 Academy Street Alpharetta, Georgia - AlpharettaThere needs to be a limit line on Academy Street for cars going east. There was an accident involving a child leaving the parking lot of Alpharetta Christian Academy/Alpharetta First Baptist Church, and many people report close calls. People are either not stopping for the light or stopping too late because there is no limit line.

Drainage Issue Archived1150 Timberline Place Alpharetta, GA 30005, United States of America - Alpharetta
A portion of Timberline is starting to dip just above Tamarack Way. According to the County Water Authority, there is a large leak in the supply line to 1150 Timberline that the homeowners have not repaired. The leak is following the lines under the road then coming up in front of someone else's driveway. Until the road collapses and is impassible they can't do anything to repair the line. The county has been there at least 4 times so the homeowner is very aware of it but hasn't made repairs. Since it's past the meter the county can't fix it.
This is a safety issue for the neighborhood. If the road collapses, people can be hurt and the expense will be great. Our school buses go down that street. If the Water Authority cannot prevent it by shutting off the water, then I am asking Alpharetta Public Safety to step in and help. We cannot wait for the road to collapse before this long term leak is fixed.

Enraged Homeless man Archived155-1999 Kimball Bridge Road Alpharetta, Georgia - Alpharetta
For over 2 years a lot of Alpharetta residents have reported a homeless man pushing a shopping cart full of plastic bags, roaming the area. He screams in a very violent, angry, and aggressive manner and uses a lot of foul and obscene language.
His erratic and aggressive behavior has increased in the last year and has residents more concerned than before about their safety, including the safety of their families and spouses.
He yells and screams obscenities at all hours of the day, and at night his voice travels through the area, making it difficult for residents to sleep.
From other residents and reports, he seems to live in the woods near Rock Mill Rd and has at times been seen living in the enclosed bus stop on North Point Pkwy. He travels on North Point Pkwy, Kimball Bridge, Old Milton Rd, State Bridge Rd, & Haynes Bridge Rd, and the Rock Mill and Ocee Parks, in the same pattern.
He has been seen twice standing out in the middle of the road on State and Kimball Bridge near the Walgreens. At times he leaves some of his trash behind on the street or walkways.
This issue has also been brought up here - Issue ID: 3079728
Most believe he has mental issues and have requested multiple times for him to be taken off the streets to an appropriate place as he needs help.
I'm reporting this issue, as this issue has been ongoing and yet to be resolved.
Alpharetta police have been contacted before to deal with this person multiple times, especially with regards to the noise and disturbing the peace issues, but the overall issue with him is never resolved and he's still on the streets causing issues and disturbances. He has been warned by the police, but still carries on creating disturbances, showing he has no respect for the people of Alpharetta.
He may or may not be a physical threat yet, but his actions and presence have continued to impress a sense of danger and concern, that the citizens of Alpharetta shouldn't have to continue to worry about, and they should be able to live in a peaceful community.
I sincerely hope that this issue can be resolved so we're not talking about this issue again in a year or a situation where a citizen was physically harmed because this person had a mental breakdown and went into an unprovoked rage.

Traffic Issue ArchivedWindward Pkwy Alpharetta, GA, 30005, USA - AlpharettaThis intersection is the utter pits. Resolving the issue would be as simple as adjusting the timing of the light change so that cars don't continue to back up and block the intersection. Of course, the even easier solution would be to teach people how to drive properly. Fools!

Greenway Issue Archived415 Rowes Cir Alpharetta, GA, 30009, USA - AlpharettaI am President of the Rowes DT HOA. Many of our neighbors (myself included) have noticed that many of the lights on the Alpha Loop behind Midwick, Rowes Downtown and Voysey are out. In fact, there are more out than are operational. It is VERY dark on the trail and obviously this creates several concerns, not the least of which is safety. With so many people using the trail in the evenings and at night for walks and getting back and forth from DT to Avalon, this is dangerous (and honestly a tripping or falling hazard as it really is hard to see very far on a cloudy night). We love this trail and love using it, but after walking tonight and seeing all of the outages, we are concerned and would like to have this addressed promptly, especially as the days grow shorter. Thank you very much for your prompt attention to this matter.
