    This neighborhood has a horrible rat problem. Since moving here two years ago, I have spent thousands of dollars in my basement to deal with a rat infestation. I think that they are not coming in my basement anymore but they continue living in the alley. These are bold rats that walk freely between trash cans during the day. I pot out poison in my area but the entire area from start to end of th alley needs hoe ought cleaning and rat poisoning. THere are piles of trash and yard waste where the rats make homes and hiding places. I have made previous requests to clear the bushes from the alley and nothing done. We need frequent bulk trash pick up. My latest bulk ppick up request had not yet been completed. This is inhumane.

    PEDESTRIANS COMING OFF THE 64 FT TOTTEN BUSES AT 4TH AND NEW HAMPSHIRE, NW CANNOT CROSS THE STREET AT A PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALK BECAUSE CARS COMING FROM NORTH AND SOUTH ON NEW HAMPSHIRE AVENUE WILL NOT STOP TO LET PEDESTRIANS CROSS. THIS IS ALSO THE CASE WITH THE METRO POLICE DEPT WHO ALSO WOULD NOT STOP AT THE PEDESTRIAN CROSS WALK ACROSS NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE NW. AS SOON AS SOME ONE GETS RUN OVER I ASSUME THE CITY WILL FINALLY STEP UP AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT DC TRAFFIC LAWS BEING VIOLATED CONSTANTLY AT PEDESTRIAN CROSS WALKS. THE LAW SAYS THAT THOSE WHITE LINES ON THE STREET MEAN A PEDESTRIAN HAS THE RIGHT TO CROSS SAFELY. THIS LAW IS NOT ADHERED TO IN THE DISTRICT AND THE POLICE DEPT DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT EITHER. THIS IS MY SECOND REQUEST OF THIS PROBLEM AND I AM KEEPING RECORD OF MY NOTIFICATION TO CITY OFFICIALS BECAUSE WHEN SOMEONE GETS RUN OVER AT THIS CROSS WALK I AM GOING ON LOCAL NEWS STATIONS TO COMPLAIN.

    There are so many potholes and damaged areas our car just bumps along the entire block. Not to mention all the gravel that's around and building up in the yards. This needs to be fixed before it gets any worse.
