North Capital At T St Washington, DC - BloomingdaleI walked two blocks to my bus stop (80 bus at North Capital and T St NW/NE) this morning. I had to walk through 2 feet of snow and walk in the street to get around 5 foot snow drifts (from the plows, presumably) just to get there. For the second time this winter, after a heavy snow I had to stand in the middle of the street to wait for the bus. There were 4 of us waiting in the street. An old man actually walked in front of the bus while it was pulling up - luckily the bus driver saw him - but there was no margin of error, and it was pure luck that no one got hurt. Why isn't it standard practice to plow the sidewalks and crosswalks of major streets (like North Capital, Rhode Island, etc.) after a snow storm? After I got off the bus at North Capital and H St, I had to walk literally 20 feet into the road to get around the snow drift the street the plows created. I feel so marginalized as a pedestrian and bus rider, and the grumblings I heard on the bus tell me I'm not alone.

101-199 T Street Northeast Washington, DC - EckingtonAlong T Street NE in between 2nd Street and Summit Place by McKinley Technology High School there is a gross amount of litter on the streets and on the grass/sidewalks - and it continues to increase as the weather gets warmer. The students blatantly disregard that littering is wrong, as well as a crime. They throw bottles, cans, snack wrappers, pizza boxes, and school papers nonchalantly knowing there are no repercussions. The school and the city should enforce littering codes and keep Eckington beautiful - it is unfair to the residents who work to maintain a nice and respectable neighborhood community.

Bicycles Archived170 Uhland Terrace Ne Washington, DC 20002, USA - EckingtonI have reported this issue once before and will continue to report it until proper actions are taken!!! I don't understand why it is okay for people to park MOPEDS on the SIDEWALK (169 Uhland Terr NE). To my understanding it's not legal to park vehicles operated by gas on the public sidewalk nor is it okay for anyone to cut into public sidewalk without a permit. This issue was reported more than a month ago and NOTHING has been done! There was a worker who put out an orange tag and no one has ever followed up. Something needs to be done about this!

Metropolitan Branch Trail Washington, District of Columbia - Eckington
3 drivers this week have driven onto the Metropolitan Branch Trail putting danger putting pedestrians and bicyclists in danger. There should be a flex post or solid barrier at every entrance to the trail, preventing southbound and northbound travel. The last driver was able to enter the trail at R st. and drive over 1 mile to the end of the trail at beneath Franklin st. completely unobstructed by any barrier other than bicyclists, walkers and children. Since there are no cross streets carrying traffic across the trail, it should be clear that it is not open to cars. We are talking about 6 flex posts in total where the trail intersects R (1 post) st, S st (2 posts), T st (2 posts) and Edgewood rd (1 post). Thank you for your help MBT TrailRagner GH

Unsafe bus stop Open16 Rhode Island Ave Ne Washington, DC 20002, USA - EckingtonThe G8 bus stops here, but I was almost hit (while standing on the curb) by a NOT IN SERVICE bus that was seriously speeding! If there was a bus shelter here (which there should be at EVERY bus stop, though mayby that's too much to ask for) perhaps the drivers would slow down, and EXPECT people to be standing there.

Tree Removal Archived1913 2nd St Ne Washington, DC 20002, USA - EckingtonThis tree branch has been sitting out on the sidewalk for nearly 3 weeks now. This is the second time be reported. Why can't someone from city services just drive by and haul it away. Why do we have to constantly file new tickets for every single tree and every single fallen branch??? Just do a general sweep of the entire street every couple days and scoop it up!! It isn't that hard to figure out. Please get some consistent and regular service to keep our sidewalks clean!!!!!
