The City of Dunwoody has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 2328. Currently, we are working on this issue. Please check back for status updates.

This issue should be examined at least every other month in the summer. It can be cut back and then will need it again in a couple of weeks. Thanks for looking into it.
What about the walking traffic signal response time across our major streets and roads? Can they be sped up so that walkers don't have to wait 4 minutes from button push to cross permission?

If there is an issue at a particular intersection please report it separately and we can have it looked into. The signals would maintain their normal timing until triggered by pedestrian/commuter traffic. For major streets this time will be longer for major roadways.

Specifically, the intersection of Chamblee Dunwoody Road, and Roberts Road, where Chamblee Dunwoody forks to the left(NB). Last week end we were walking in the morning, and there was no traffic, but we pushed the button to wait for the crossing light, going from CD to the other side of Roberts, and the time was 4 minutes. I understand that on week days, during rush hours, when people are trying to get home, the pedestrian priority is low,but during school transit hours, and on the week ends, the non emergent traffic should be a little inconvenienced for children trying to get to school and those of us trying to exercise and cross the streets safely. It takes most walkers approximately 18 seconds to get across the street, 25 if under the age of 8, maybe with short legs, and one of the best ways to slow the traffic down, and make sure our children learn to cross the street safely, is to have times when pedestrians have a higher priority than motorized vehicles.
