Cambridge PD alternates between saying they have no jurisdiction in Cambridge and saying they will refer it to their non-existent traffic enforcement officer. MA State Police says they have no jurisdiction over any of the streets that feed Memorial, and that includes all traffic control measures at the intersections.

Anonymous: Cars have crashed into you? You need to call 911 everytime this happens! And make sure they write a report and you get a copy of it.

The police who are openly disinterested in doing their job are unlikely to respond to an incident with no injuries and no property damage.

This failure of a police department needs to be defunded. Or rather, they should be funded only for the work they actually do. Maybe some budget cuts would motivate them to write some tickets to fill in the gaps.

1/23 Update: No action has been taken. Drivers continue to blow through with impunity. CPD is nothing if not predictable.

Still zero attempt to even monitor this intersection. Obviously, writing a ticket is just a bridge too far.
