  Snow park is becoming a homeless encampment—millions spent to develop this space for families and children who are being harassed and chased by homeless. This isn’t good and hopefully something fatal doesn’t occur or a child snatched in order for action to be taken.

  The renovation of Snow Park was funded mainly with $9.2 million in federal transportation funds, but also with $2.3 million in funds from Measure DD, a $198 million bond Oakland voters passed in 2002 for lake improvements, and $500,000 from Alameda County Measure BB, a sales tax for transportation improvements passed in 2014.

  $12,000,000 of taxpayers money to provide a homeless encampment.

  Thanks for the link..I just added my name to the petition and will circulate. btw: That $12M could have been put to better use if the intent was to create a space for the homeless to camp out. In that case, I'd rather that money gone to the creation of safe, livable housing for the homeless. Selah.
