I forgot to mention that we need some kind of speed bumps or slowing mechanism so cars can’t speed from Otis up Broadway towards Shoreline. It’s just a matter of time before another drunk driver zooms through the intersection at Broadway and Bayview and takes out a family on their bikes in the bike lane

i walk my dog on that block of Broadway (Shoreline to Otis)- lots of cars go over, way over the speed limit all the time, and particularly during the evening commute time many drivers do not stop at the stop sign at the corner of Bayview and Broadway. It is very dangerous to cross Broadway there. There should also be a flashing red light to get them to stop. There are many pedestrians in this densely populated ares

The little rubber blocks along shoreline are completely insufficient. Additionally there needs to be a physical barrier that prevents people from parking in the bike lane because they don’t want their car to get hit by other cars on shoreline

Your report will help inform the City of Alameda’s work to achieve our Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries. We will use street safety reports, including yours, in combination with crash data and equity indicators to prioritize and design street safety investments. This evaluation will generally happen on an annual basis, with some exceptions for clear and pressing trends. Issues that the City deems to be immediate safety concerns will be elevated for quick action.
