As a resident on sway way I also agree. I have 4 children. Three under the age of 7. Each time we have to leave to go into the car or out, we worry that a speeding vehicle will come directly at us.

I also live in swan way and I totally agree with you there’s being a lot of people speeding and growing trash I’ve being calling thyme regarding a light pole near my house because it’s dark and random people come and park to hang around in that dark area but no response from the city yet (speeding, trash, and dark road on some places)

I heard speed bumps would depreciate the value of the neighborhood. I suggest cameras, more lights, and more police presence. Maybe start a "Community Watch Program" and have it posted visibly around the neighborhood. If your neighborhood cares about their safety and aesthetics of the streets (ie. trash, people hanging out, and general crime), you all have to pull together. I lived on Swan Way and still have family and friends living there. It's why I'm concerned and just giving suggestions (IMO). The neighborhood is getting better it's just the surrounding area that's causing the problem. I'm sure it's not the your neighbors speeding but more their friends, constituents, and the passerby. Be a good example and set them straight. Good Luck!

Make the speeding fines SO HIGH that it will truly hurt those speeders. Public whipping post too; I would willingly volunteer to crack that whip.

I agree as a Swan Way resident too! It's so bad someone on the street put in their own speed bump but some neighbors complained (same ones that fly through here). I have heard of neighborhoods being depreciated because of speed bumps and all if not most homes need to be on board to sign the petition for speed bump installation. I honestly wouldn't mind signing that. I want our neighborhood to be safe for everyone and not have to worry about someone mowing us down.

I live on Swan Way and posted a sign to watch out for children. It doesn't help, I've even shouted at people to slow down. Something needs to be done before someone gets hurt or killed.
