This has been referred to the Southwest District Station, an update will be posted once we hear back from them.

RPD can only do so much. I have to assume they'd like the neighborhood to come up with a solution. If we got 3 or 4 cars to wait at the site, and box the waste collection truck in until RPD can get there, thereby delaying the driver's route, I bet we'd get a better response. We had a meeting with Waste Industries today on site. They said they were really sorry and that it would not be picked up early again. The also said last week was a fluke with the regular driver for the area out and three different drivers having our route. We are moving ahead with pricing out other trash companies but that process will take a few weeks. We are sorry the neighbors are dealing with this and we made it clear to Waste Industries that it can't happen again. If it does, we will be moving vendors.

To the citizen who snapped the photo on the other concern, thank you for getting a picture of this truck! This illegal trash collection at Trophy has been going on entirely too long! I moved the picture over to this concern from the other concern Raleigh closed out.

Thanks David for that input. I regret that I believe that WI is lying to you. It is always ridiculous excuses and the only time it stops is when RPD pays them a visit, and then it is only for a couple of weeks and it starts right back up again. Back in March and April it had gotten so bad it was happening at 4 and 5 am. RPD spoke to them and it stopped for about a month and then it was 6:50 am, then 6:40, 6:30, 6:20. This hasn't been just last week, this has been for several weeks, and obviously again Monday this week when that person on the other issue took the picture of the WI truck. This was the last comment from RPD in April after they spoke to WI regarding trash collections happening at 3:53 am: "Per RPD: An officer spoke with a supervisor of Waste Industries. The supervisor accepted responsibility for this incident and stated one of his newer drivers emptied a dumpster in this area, during this time. The driver has been counseled and understands he cannot pick-up before the allotted time frame. This should not happen again and the supervisor agreed to continue to educate his employees. We will continue to monitor as availability allows."

Last week was a fluke? How so? Waste Industries has been collecting trash here overnight and early morning hours for a couple of years now. I live in Shelton Apartments almost a block away and hear the truck at least twice a week. If last week was a fluke, what abut this week? It was an even earlier than last week. Thanks for meeting with WI, I hope the threat of changing businesses means something to them.

lloyd, I think that might be considered kidnapping. I'm sure if anything else, it's probably not legal. Thanks for the idea, but the picture probably will assist RPD on this.

Hi Allison, not to worry, it is not considered kidnapping. At worst it'd be considered double parking. Think of environmentalist protesters laying down in front of logging trucks.

Per Raleigh Police, we have charged the driver in this case. We also alerted the manager again and he knows that we charged the driver and considered charging the manager. I hope this will solve this repeat issue.
