Opis
I needed to make a trip to Staples (in Hamden) today and ended up having to bicycle up Dixwell Avenue because the Farmington Canal Trail was impassible.
I rode the bus back, which took much longer than biking the canal trail would have (though it was otherwise a pleasant and relaxing experience).
I realize this issue doesn't affect very many people, especially since I'm perfectly happy to ride the bus. Nevertheless, I thought it should be recorded so that people know about it and know to take the bus instead if they don't have a mountain bike with shock absorbers for all the bumps created by the walked-on compacted snow.

I think the bollards get in the way of the snow plows.
I should note that there were a couple of stretches that looked like they might have been cleared off, perhaps by business/property owners. There was even a short stretch in Newhallville that had clearly been shoveled by hand. Thank you to whoever did that!

The bollards I've seen all fold down flat so that vehicles can make their way through, allowing for sidewalk-sized snow plows:

The city may not have the ($$) resources to prioritize paying workers to do this, though (it does have the equipment, however).
