Oh great! Assigned to Code Enforcement. Who wants to bet that no codes are enforced and nothing is fixed?

The reported encampment is on City property, and recent federal court cases have restricted removal of homeless encampments on public property. In Martin v. City of Boise, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a unanimous decision, finding that the City of Boise’s prohibition against sleeping in public violates the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment when no alternative shelter is available. Thus, cities cannot enforce camping/lodging prohibitions if their local homeless population faces inadequate shelter space. However, the City will continue to monitor the location and assist with clean-ups when appropriate.

Actually it is no longer an "encampment" so that decision by the Ninth Circuit Court no longer applies to this particular situation. It is simply tons of trash. I understand Vallejo Public Works and Recology are responsible for that stretch of sidewalk. Please have some pride in your city and clean it up!

They managed to close all of the homeless/Unsheltered/ unhoused encampments without actually fixing any of the requests.

This issue is still open, trash needs to be removed. Although it could be a haz mat situation.

CSS and Code Enforcement division employees are responsible for this atrocious mess. City management needs to take a closer look at how this mess was allowed to happen. Is SeeClickFix serving our community well?
