Why are Alder's appointed to these positions, given a spot on City of New Haven website - and when you call you get NO response? What exactly is the role of the Alder in our community? If anyone see's our Alder out and about - Thomas R. Ficklin, Jr., could you tell him to be more responsive to his community he's supposedly supporting!

They are not appointed. we elect them.. To the best of my knowledge all the wards are represented by a Democratic.
