Description
The 10 Journal Square Kushner tower contractor removed all of the decorative globe street lamps along the east side of Bergen Ave. & JFK Boulevard.
Because of the traffic barriers along the side of the path, the streetlights in the medium divider were inadequate to light the pedestrian path along the east side of the construction site.
The Kushner contractor eventually installed 9 light fixtures along the pedestrian path, from Sip Ave. to the Journal Square PATH station and 2 on the north end of the site, for a total of 11 fixtures.
FOUR of the eleven light fixtures are not lit at night. The Kushner contractor must be compelled to repair these lights and maintain them until the construction is completed..
The fixture in the photo is the 2nd fixture north of Sip Ave.

This is the view looking east on the south crosswalk at Bergen Ave. and JFK Boulevard.
The 4th (left) and 3rd (right) fixtures north of Sip Ave. are mounted in the back of the recess in the walkway at the crosswalk.
They should both be moved FORWARD, out to the posts at the walkway, to provide maximum illumination.

CORRECTION - the numbering of the fixtures is wrong:
The 4th fixture from Sip Ave. is south of the south crosswalk.
The 5th & 6th fixtures from Sip Ave. (NOT the 3rd and 4th) are at the south crosswalk.

I called Superintendent 1: 732-284-7385 listed on the Job Site Information Board on the north fence of the construction site. John Macchiaverna of AJD Construction responded to my complaints.
They replaced lights that weren't working and aimed the lights to get more light on the walkway. Now Jersey City knows who to contact about similar issues.
