On warm weekends and early evening during the week large packs of dirtbikes run up and down highland from Newhallville toward East Rock.

Dirtbike posts proliferating on ClickFix and I would put it near the top of quality of life issues here in New Haven (yes, yes, there are much more serious economic and social problems but quality of life concerns need to be addressed by a police chief so dedicated to community policing).

How have other cities of with similar demographics and geographics been able to solve this problem? Anybody out there in ClickFix world have insight?

All cities I have lived in have cops that chase down criminals, that is what they are hired to do right?

the other day one wo out of the large pack of raced on the sidewalk towards me and my 4 yr old - we had to jump out of the way. very scary. i agree that this is a huge quality of life issue, and may cause me to move elsewhere. why pay high taxes only to be almost run over by dirtbikes...?

Reopening due to the fact that this issue has not been fixed, if anything it has got much worse. City Hall, and mayoral canditates, need to know that this issue is a major one for New Haveners and will not be ignored.

I will be closing dirt bike/ATV complaints that pre-date the conclusion of the police undercover operation (see www.newhavenindependent.org/index.php/archives/entry/9_arrested_in_dirt_bike_sting/). I do not expect the dirt bike/ATV issue to be completely solved, but it will be helpful to policing efforts to distinguish new reports from those before this recent operation.

Please open up new SCF issues as dirt bike/ATV issues re-occur.
