Late last night I found a 1 year old reddish blond chihuahua cowering under a car. He was wearing a PetMate blue harness so he must belong to someone. He is now at the New Haven Animal Shelter. Please share.

I saw that dog on Lombard St btwn Atwater & Rowe yesterday about 11 am. Stopped several people to ask where the dog belonged. Someone told me he lived in a brown house in the block btwn Clinton & Atwater; further, the dog knew how to get home as he often was loose. I hated leaving him as he looked like a puppy. Since I didn't have a cell phone, i couldn't call animal control.
Perhaps we should leave him water and some food?
