I would say "Sure, why not", except for the fact that, unfortunately, this bench would not have a very happy future. It would probably be vandalized on and urinated on. But an excellent idea.

It would be great to try this out in neighborhood commercial districts (Westville, Upper State, Grand Ave) but involve local residents in the design, construction and care in order to encourage self-sufficiency and local pride.
I totally agree. Would Yale Architecture Students want to work with us on Upper State Street to do a temporary installation under one or two of the Underpasses?
