Description
For two years AMR ambulances are parking on the corner of Chapel and College Streets, sandwiched in between the Taft apartments and Yale's Bingham Hall. They idle their engines creating litral carbon pollution and excessive noise pollution. The City of New Haven has a "No Idling" campaign so the irony that the very vehicles designed to ensure the health of residents are disturbing it. I have talked to several drivers who comply and tell me there is no reason to idle the engines. Ideally they should park elsewhere.

I would like to second this. This drives me crazy. As well as add that police officers/their cars do the same thing frequently. It's really unacceptable. I live in the area and have had my hearing tested a few times since I moved to New Haven about two years ago; it is getting significantly worse. The air pollution has also prevented me from being able to wear contacts like I used to, which is endlessly frustrating. (I would get an air purifier, but it far outside of my price range at this time.)
I wonder if, at the very very least, there is the possibly that these folks could vary where they park to spread the health risks and hearing loss around the city, instead of so frequently harming the same small population.
