Have reported this many times. There is not enough parking for the party houses that are rental properties on the corner of winthrop and Edgewood. Very dissapointed that publicly maintained property is being destroyed by residents and their visitors. Yesterday drove by and not only were cars parked on the greenspace but they were publicly drinking in their cars.

Very simple solution, give tickets out EVERYTIME cars are parked there. If that does not work post signs that they will be towed if parked on esplanade and ticket and tow them. They'll get the idea that laws apply to them as well as everyone else. Police are parked in the Edgewood area on a regular basis. Not too hard to accomplish this task. This blatant misuse of public land happens more often on the weekends and evenings. Target those times. The neighbors would really benefit from this. Not too much too ask for by the law abiding, tax paying citizens.

Please be a bit more careful in identifications. The party houses are in the MIDDLE of the Edgewood block between Winthrop & Norton, on the even-numbered side. I own and live in a property on the corner and I can assure you neither I nor my adjacent owners are the culprits. Quite the opposite: I have been complaining about people parking on the Mall every summer for several years, both in this forum and by direct phone calls during loud, late-night parties. I have been assured that the re-modeling of Edgewood Avenue will include a bike lane that will physically block access to the Mall. When? Real Soon Now....

Thanks for the clarification Brian, the cars are typically parked closer to Winthrop than Norton on that side. Sorry if there was any confusion caused.
