It is good that you two post these problems with the park because now others know and there is a record but if you really want something done make a few phone calls, I would start with the alderperson.

Alderman Slick??? His little league teams don't practice their anymore so thus the decline and neglect of this park. When his teams were there, the park was clean and mowed on a timely basis...and that's not a knock on the Parks Dept. Those employees have heir hands full keeping up with the cleaning of the parks in general no matter how many garbage cans they place. Peat Meadow rapidly becoming a crap hole and no city official or department cares. Just last weekend, a family decided to bring down two grills, tents, etc and have a huge bbq. The mess the next day was deplorable. No accountability.
Drugs and prostituition have also rapidly increased. I witnessed a woman exit the woods at 7AM, walk across the park only to be picked up by a male in a SUV. She jumped into the back seat and sped off before I could take down a license plate.
NHPD needs to step in and assist with nightly patrols, bring back the bike patrols to this neighborhood that worked very efficiently in past years.

How about calling both the alderperson and the police district manager Sgt Cruz

We need homeless housing now. This is a human emergency. You cant discard us like paper cups. Until wealthy people do something like I am, trying to feed, clothe, and house homeless folks and jobless folks, more parks will be used.

How about letting the homeless sent up tents in your backyard for the ones you do not have room for in your house and car? Also how do you know what we do or don't do for the homeless?

There is a fine line between feeding/clothing and enabling.

There are already homeless at my doorstep.

I am not saying that we should not help someone in need but as Jogger posted," there is a fine line between feeding/clothing and enablinglin".. It is not safe for everyone involved to have people living in the park. Something has be done to clean up this park and I think it starts with alderperson.
