Have your Company's higher ups push for this
, notify traffic and parking and put a formal request in.
Safe Streets New haven has multiple resources such as video taping this area and posting it as evidence of the situation.
You alone cannot address this issue- gather a petition of your co-workers and go to Mayor's night in which I believe is every first Tuesday of the month-
also speak directly with the Police District Manager and enlist his help in getting accident statistics for this area to help further your cause. Best of Luck !!

I'm not sure what the above posting means - A request for a traffic light at that intersection has been submitted? Someone needs to complete the form? If it's the latter, it looks like a long complicated and bureaucratic procedure - Drown them in paperwork. Perhaps the Wooster Square Watch group could take this on as a project, although it's out of their area somewhat. Or we could wait for a fatality.

I bike across that part of Long Wharf Drive quite often. Unless traffic is unusually light, I bike to the Water Street intersection to cross, not a realistic option for pedestrians. I've given up risking my life by trying to walk my bike across at that location.

There was another accident there this morning while a different coworker was crossing the street. It's not even safe when you are waved across by the one driver that stops....

There has been absolutely no progress on this matter. The signage that is in place is behind a lamp post and virtually ignored. There really needs to be a flashing light or AT LEAST a pedestrian crossing sign that is placed in the road.

Hello, there still is no sign in the roadway that would prompt a driver to stop and allow a pedestrian to cross the street. The signs that are posted on the side of the road are of no use as no one pays attention to them or the people standing in the crosswalk to cross the street for that matter. A bright fluorescent sign in the middle of the road may be noticed by drivers. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The city should go check out the skid marks on the road here from last week when my colleague was almost hit. How difficult is it to get one of those little signs up in the middle of the road? Step up New Haven!!
