This town is so stingy when it comes to garbage recepticles. No wonder there is litter everywhere, there are very few convenient places to toss it. If you are not on Central people are hard pressed to find a sidewalk container.

Indeed. The worst is in front of club onyx. The building owner's clearly aren't doing anything to keep that property clean.

We definitely have an issue. Walking around this weekend (enjoying the beautiful weather), we had to avoid broken glass bottles in a number of places and noticed tons of bottles, cans, and trash in the bushes, grass, etc all around downtown. It's such a beautiful city, but I'm often embarrassed when I have visitors in town and we are walking around about how much trash is on our streets. I think the area around all sides of CVS is one of the worst, along with the Hancock Bank empty property, and like others said the area outside Onyx is always awful. Let's keep our beautiful city looking beautiful!

More garbage receptors. Even if one picks up litter you ends up having to walk blocks before you have an opportunity to get rid of it. Another possibility is to make businesses responsible for keeping their areas clean or be ticketed.

Well - apparently someone named JOE WAUGH 892-5886 was assigned and then closed this case. I don't know about the rest of you, but from our condo (the Beacon) to CVS, along 3rd and 2nd all the way to Central - in front of the Onyx nightclub and Publix - the city is just a mess. Broken glass, a grocery carriage sat in front of onxy for over two weeks filling up with trash.. There aren't any receptacles and it doesn't appear that anyone actually is responsible for cleaning it all up. Can someone from the Mayor's Action Center please actually DO something about this other than having someone simply "close" the case???

I have JUST launched a Facebook group "St Petersburg Clean it NOW" to organize citizens and bring attention to dirty downtown.

I myself have made 3 attempts, via 3 different methods, to contact the mayor about this, he NEVER responds.
