Q. Please tell us what makes this a good location for a bike share station?
A. Near several restaurants, bars, and on a street that is a designated bike route.

How about we don't put bike share locations in neighborhoods full of people who can easily afford their own bikes...
Just sayin.

2 Mechanic St is the Corsair Building, correct?
Anyone who can afford to live in that behemoth of gentrification can buy their own bikes.

Kent, I'm on the committee advising the city on bike share locations. What are your thoughts on good locations in lower-income neighborhoods, particularly Dwight, Dixwell, and Hill North?
Patrick, one alternative is The District, under construction a couple of blocks away from Mechanic Street. It will likely be a destination since it will house offices, a gym, and a beerhall. Also you might want to raise the issue with the East Rock Management Team which meets at 7 the fourth Monday of most months at mActivity on Nicoll Street.

Corsair has their own internal bike share, so I don't think this bike share location was recommended for Corsair.
This location is both a destination (upper state restaurants/bars) and a border of two very different neighborhoods.

I think State Street has to have a bike share location. I picked 2 Mechanic Street because there is plenty of space there, but any spot between there and Modern Pizza would be as good.
I think downtown to State Street will probably be one of most popular uses of the bike share program as it is a long distance to walk but a short distance to bike.
