Description
Although there is a clearly painted crosswalk, drivers speed through it, much faster than the 20 MPH school zone allows. Daily in the mornings, I observe HS students literally running across the walk, looking all directions so they don't get hit. I observe cars entering the crosswalk directly in front of students, trying to veer around them rather than stopping and giving them right of way. Most often, drivers just speed on through with no regard for pedestrians waiting at the curb. I think we need a crosswalk alert light there, as well as a sign in the center of the street. Police should have periodic monitoring of the area to ensure that drivers observe the 20 MPH speed.
