This still has not been remedied and is getting worse.

There is a trailer that has been parked in front of the house for 5 days loaded with trash. The front porch is cluttered with more trash. The back yard is once again filled with trash. Even our postman said these people told him they had dozens of bags of trash inside the house yet to be unloaded. Can't our city mandate these people to clean up & keep their property clean? And BTW, are the Code 2 Enforcement Officers takin' action on the unmowed properties in the 700 block of El Paso Street & the deplorable shape of those lawns on San Antonio & Dallas Streets? Near East Side is becoming a trashy neighborhood. It's deplorable. Again, thanks for allowing the rant.

Agree with everything said. It shouldn't be allowed. I drove by today and saw the trailer and trash in the front yard. Don't know if this is a rent house, but if so, the owner should be held responsible for who they rent the house to and what they do. Too much of this goes on in Jacksonville with rental properties.

I agree with you all! I grew up in this neighborhood & it's heart wrenching to see this neighborhood looking so badly! I recently moved back into the city & was sickened by the shape the neighborhood was in! Although, I am just renting for now, it is aggravating for those of us that do keep our lawns clean, maintained & clutter free! It's also sad to see so many of the beautiful older homes setting empty wasting away with grass & weeds knee high! We have a home across from us that at one time was a beauty, now the garage is covered in graffiti with windows broken out,(which serves as a great shelter for stray cats), weeds & vines are over taking the home & in several areas the eaves are rotting. Someone comes by about every 3-4 months and whacks a portion of the grass down with a weed eater, just enough I suppose to say it's being maintained! It's truly sad!!

Let me also add that I know a couple in their 70's & disabled, their yard was about 1/3 of the shape of the picture posted on this issue & they received a very nasty letter from the code officer and given 15 days to clean or face a citation!!! They were even forced to remove a tire swing they have in a tree for grandchildren!!! It was referred to as ""DEBRIS"" hanging from trees!!!
